Job Role: Senior Engineer – Voice Networks

Location: Wall St, New York

Flexenet is a global leader providing secure private voice lines to the financial community.


We are currently seeking a customer centric senior engineer to work out of our Wall Street office serving the needs of our global client base, assisting in the architectural design and implementation of a private voice network over SIP, TDM and ethernet.



The role encompasses


  • Configuring, Troubleshooting and Architecture of voice solutions based on TDM and Cisco

  • Working closely with sales and operations to deliver class leading reliability at the optimum cost

  • Day to day network monitoring, grooming and optimisation

  • Working with our carriers and clients to provide support to our users and manage delivery of bandwidth

  • Developing and configuring new installations as well as new methodologies arising from new customer requirements and evolving technology



Key Technologies: Ring Down and Hoot networks based on;


  • VoIP services over an ethernet based IP backbone using Cisco

    • Solarwinds

    • SIP Server technologies

  • TDM circuits over legacy T1/DS3/Sycamore/Eastern Research architecture


  • Dealerboard systems using IPC, Etrali, BT, Avaya,


Key Requirements:


  • Easily commutable to Wall St.  New York

  • Good customer relationship skills

  • Demonstratable experience on Cisco Router and switch configuration and administration

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, EIGRP, SNMP)

  • Knowledge and understanding of TDM Technologies such as T1/E1, DS3 and OC3

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience provisioning with Telco carriers – Verizon, Lumen, GTT etc.

  • Experience Installing, and maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls at both customer premises and Data Centers

  • Troubleshooting and resolving escalated infrastructure issues and/or outages.

  • Understanding and experience with SIP protocol and VoIP technologies

  • Problem solving skills and ability to provide hands-on technical support

  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark)

  • Preferred Certifications – CCNA, CCNA Voice (CCVP) or CompTIA Network+

  • Experience with Carrier PSTN and Data Technologies (DIA, EVPL, IPVPN, PTP Layer2)
